MYA Valencia Dress Code, Prices & Entry Guide 2026

Everything you need to know before your first night at MYA Valencia: dress code, ticket prices, how to get there, what to bring, and when to arrive.

The questions people ask before their first night at MYA are always the same ones. What do I wear? How much is it? When should I arrive? Can I buy tickets online? What’s the deal with VIP?

This post answers all of them. Directly, without the vague-ness that most venue FAQ pages traffic in. By the end of it you should be able to plan the night with no open questions.

If you still have something you want to ask after reading, the FAQ page covers additional scenarios, or you can message the team directly on WhatsApp at +34 601 09 48 22.

Dress Code at MYA Valencia

Let’s be specific, because “smart casual” is one of those phrases that means everything and nothing.

What works

The MYA dress code is smart casual with a genuine emphasis on “smart.” The crowd that goes to MYA makes an effort. This isn’t a room where the majority of people showed up in whatever was on the floor. Think: a night where you’re going somewhere worth dressing for.

For men:

  • Clean trousers (chinos, dark jeans, tailored trousers — all fine)
  • A decent shirt — collared or not, but not a football shirt
  • Clean leather shoes or smart trainers that are clearly not gym shoes
  • A blazer or jacket if you have one and feel like it — plenty of people wear them

For women:

  • The range is wide and the standards are applied less rigidly
  • Dresses, skirts, smart trousers, jumpsuits — whatever represents your “going out” version of yourself
  • Heels are common but not required
  • Smart trainer-equivalent is fine

The underlying principle: you’re going to one of Valencia’s better clubs, not a bar. The effort level should reflect that.

What doesn’t work

The door team applies the dress code. The following will get you turned away regardless of whether you’ve bought tickets in advance:

  • Flip-flops or beach sandals. The City of Arts and Sciences is close to the beach. This does not make beach footwear appropriate.
  • Sportswear — tracksuits, joggers, athletic shorts, gym wear
  • Tank tops or sleeveless undershirts — a proper shirt or top is required
  • Heavy logo-covered streetwear — SUPREME-style graphic-heavy pieces read as casual, not smart
  • Flags, banners, or ideological or religious imagery on clothing. Not political, not sports-affiliation, not anything that makes you a billboard for something rather than a person on a night out
  • Costumes. Unless the event specifically calls for it (some themed nights do — check the event description before you go)

The practical guide: if you’d wear it to the beach or the gym, it’s not appropriate. If you’d wear it to dinner at a mid-range restaurant, it probably is.

MYA Valencia Hours

MYA opens Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from midnight to 6am.

On occasional Sundays — usually tied to a major event or public holiday — the schedule shifts to 11pm to 5am. These special Sunday events are announced in advance on the tickets page and on social media.

When to arrive:

The opening time is midnight. The practical best arrival window is 1am to 1:30am.

Here’s the reasoning: the room from midnight to 1am is quiet. The early crowd is thin, the energy is still building, and the DJ is warming up. It’s not a bad time to be there if you want to settle in without pressure, but it’s not the experience.

From 1:30am onward, the room starts to fill properly. By 2am on a busy Friday or Saturday, the dancefloor is at temperature and the queue outside is real. Arriving after 2:30am on a peak night means a wait at the door, and the wait can be significant.

The conclusion: 1 to 1:30am is the sweet spot. You get in easily, you find your position before it’s crowded, and you’re there as the room reaches its best.

MYA Valencia Ticket Prices

The MYA pricing system rewards planning ahead. The earlier you buy, the less you pay, and the smoother your entry.

Tickets bought through the official tickets page are cheaper than at the door. The exact prices vary by event — some nights have featured DJs or special production that affects the entry price — but the principle holds across all events: online is cheaper, always.

Early bird batches are released before each event. These sell out. If you’re planning to go on a Friday or Saturday and you know in advance, buying early is the right move on both price and practicality.

Before-1am tickets: Some events offer a specific pricing tier for people who arrive before 1am. These are explicitly labelled when available. The trade-off is real: cheaper entry in exchange for arriving at the quieter part of the night.

At the door

Door prices are higher than online. On sold-out nights, there is no door entry regardless of what you’re willing to pay. If you’re deciding on the day of an event, checking the tickets page before assuming you can buy at the door is important.

VIP tables

VIP is a separate category — see the section below.

VIP Tables: What’s Included and How to Book

VIP at MYA is worth understanding properly because it’s not just “a table.” Here’s what the VIP experience includes:

Reserved table for your entire group, for the duration of the night. The table is yours from when you arrive to when you leave. No sharing, no strangers being seated next to you, no pressure to move.

Premium bottle service — the selection is legitimate, not the reduced-options list that some venues use for table bookings. The team will work with your preferences.

Dedicated hostess for your table throughout the night. For groups, this changes the logistics significantly: you have a person whose job is making your night run well.

Skip the main queue. VIP access means a separate entrance process. On a busy Saturday at 1:30am, this is not a trivial benefit.

Best sight lines. The VIP areas at MYA are positioned to face the DJ booth and dancefloor rather than away from them. You’re in the room, not watching it through glass.

VIP bookings are done via WhatsApp. The team responds quickly, will explain the package options for your group size, and can accommodate most requests with enough notice:

If you’re celebrating something — a birthday, an anniversary, a leaving party, a first night in a new city — VIP is the version worth doing.

Getting to MYA Valencia

Address: Carrer de Juan Verdeguer, 16, 46024 Valencia

The City of Arts and Sciences complex is in the eastern part of the city, on the former Turia riverbed. It’s not central in the Old-Town sense, but it’s not remote. Here’s how people actually get there.

Taxi or Uber (most common)

From Russafa or the city centre, the journey is 10-15 minutes and costs €8-12 by taxi. Uber is available in Valencia with typical wait times of 3-5 minutes at 1am. Split between four people, the transport cost is effectively negligible.

From the airport, the journey is around 20-25 minutes and costs €20-28 depending on traffic.

Booking a return in advance is worth considering. After 5am, Uber availability drops as drivers finish their shifts. Licensed taxis queue outside MYA at closing time specifically for club exits — these are reliable.

Metro

The nearest metro stops are Oceanogràfic (L3/L5) and Les Arts (L6). From the city centre, you can get close by metro, though you may need a short walk or cab for the final section depending on which station you exit from.

Important: The metro stops running around 1:30am on weekend nights. For arrivals after that, the metro is not an option. It resumes from around 6am on Friday and Saturday mornings, which is useful for the return journey if you’re staying until closing.

Walking through the Turia Gardens

The old Turia riverbed is now a 9km park that runs directly from central Valencia to the City of Arts. Walking this route at night is genuinely pleasant — the park is lit and there are other people using it. From the Russafa end, the walk is about 35-40 minutes.

This is a real option for people with comfortable shoes and no particular time pressure. You arrive at MYA having walked through one of Spain’s best urban parks in the dark, which is a specific experience worth having at least once.

Car and parking

There is underground parking in the City of Arts and Sciences complex. If you’re arriving by car, the designated driver approach is straightforward. The parking is not expensive and the walk from the car park to the venue is short.

Scooters

Seat MO, Tier, and Voi all operate in Valencia. For one or two people, the Turia route by electric scooter is practical and faster than walking. Not recommended in heels.

What to Bring

ID: Original, government-issued photo identification. Spanish DNI, EU national identity card, or passport. Photocopies, photos of ID on a phone, and driving licences from outside Spain are not accepted at the door. This is not flexible. If you don’t have original ID, you won’t get in.

Your e-ticket: If you bought online, your ticket will be on your phone as a QR code. Screenshot it in case of patchy signal near the venue.

Payment method: Cards are accepted throughout the venue — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and contactless including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash is accepted within the limits set by Spanish regulations. There is an ATM inside the venue if needed. The bar is generally faster with card.

Your smartphone: For the ticket, for the music you’ll want to Shazam at some point, and for whatever you do with your phone on a night out. A portable charger if you’re planning a long night and you know your battery doesn’t last.

What Not to Bring

Backpacks and large bags. Backpacks are not permitted inside MYA. A small clutch, a compact crossbody bag, or a jacket pocket is the practical maximum. If you’re arriving from a trip or with luggage, there is no bag storage at MYA — plan accordingly.

Food and drinks from outside. MYA has a bar. Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the venue.

Professional camera or video equipment. Smartphone photography for personal use is fine. Tripods, detachable lenses, professional cameras, and commercial recording equipment are not permitted without prior arrangement with the venue.

Anything sharp or prohibited by law. Standard venue policy. The security team conducts standard entry checks.

Important Policies

Re-entry: There is no re-entry. Once you leave MYA, your ticket is no longer valid. If you need to step out, plan your night accordingly. A new ticket is required for re-entry.

Coat check: MYA does not have a coat check. Plan your outfit with this in mind — particularly if you’re arriving in winter and the temperature difference between outside and the dancefloor is significant.

Photos and videos: Smartphone photos and personal use video are permitted. Commercial use, professional filming, and photography for publication without prior authorisation are not.

Medical items: Medications and medical devices are permitted when transported in their original containers with relevant documentation. If you have any concerns about a specific situation, contact the venue in advance via WhatsApp.

Accessibility: MYA is wheelchair accessible. The venue is designed as an inclusive space and the team will assist with any access requirements. If you have specific needs, messaging in advance via WhatsApp allows the team to prepare properly.

Lost and found: Items lost inside the venue can be followed up by contacting the team via WhatsApp at +34 601 09 48 22. The team will check with security and management.

Night-of Logistics

A few things that help the night run smoothly:

Pre-drinks: Most people start in Russafa or the city centre before heading to MYA. The Russafa to City of Arts itinerary post maps this in detail if you want a complete night plan.

Group coordination: If you’re arriving with a larger group and have booked VIP, message the team on WhatsApp before you arrive so they know to expect you. Arrival logistics for groups of eight or more are smoother with a heads-up.

Payment at the door if you haven’t bought online: Have your card ready. The queue moves faster with card than cash, and the entry process is cleaner if you have your ticket or payment sorted before you reach the front.

Signal: The City of Arts area has good mobile signal. Your e-ticket and any group coordination apps will work without issue on arrival.

Checking the Lineup Before You Go

MYA runs different events on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The lineup, ticket availability, and any special pricing tiers are listed on the tickets page before each event:

If you have questions about a specific event — the music style, the expected crowd, any themed element — the FAQ page covers common questions, or you can message the team directly.

For context on what kind of night MYA actually is — the music, the crowd, the experience from the inside — the best nightclub in Valencia guide covers that in detail. And if you’re new to Valencia and want to understand why the international community chose MYA as their home, the global community post is worth reading before your first visit.
